I really want to because Thanksgiving and Christmas are the only 2 days of the year I have roast turkey. I´d love a juicy ribeye steak any other day though.

Although turkey is considered to be the main course on Thanksgiving, that isn't nearly as true as it used to be.
There have been plenty of Thanksgivings we didn't have turkey, just out of choice, we chose a ham or sometimes, steak. Not because we don't like turkey either, 'cause we love turkey. But it is, after, all a personal choice.
You ask if you HAVE to eat it. Well, gee, I would sure hope you aren't living where they force feed you. But I don't know of any penalty for anyone that doesn't eat it.

It's not as good as steak or fried chicken, but I only get it once or twice a year with all the trimmings it deserves, so the anticipation builds.

Attitude. That is the question. It starts out a pleasure. Then, when you eat leftovers for a month it is a drudgery. It becomes a pleasure again when you see that there is only a little left. It's about attitude.

I never thought about it. We usually just have a turkey. But i guess some red meat would taste real good.

Hey I want to eat it. I go to my sister's house in another state. She cooks better than anyone I know. I can't wait.
