In my language a wallet is a wallet but shopping online I see things called 'cardholders' and things called 'wallets'. I'm looking for a men's leather accessory which holds both bank cards and has a slot for cash notes - I've given up on it holding coins, apparently this isn't done anymore - but am not sure if a card holder may not also have this cash slot? So what should I be looking for if I want the item which holds cards and cash?

just go wid the wallet, most of them have space for cards in. Or better still its Saturday tommorow hit the shops wid your mates, go for coffee, your bound to find the perfect one if you hold it in your hand!

A wallet is more like a lady's purse in design, with slots for cards, a pocket for coins, and space for notes at the back. A cardholder is just what its called. A credit card sized piece of plastice or leather, with sleeves for cards and not much else. A lot more classy in this day of plastic cash.

Look for a wallet. You are right - card holders do not have the cash slot.

Also you can try looking in the women's sections. Women's wallets usually have the change holder (not sure why this is) and men's don't. If you buy the right design no one is going to think it looks feminine.

I would expect a cardholder to just hold cards. I would expect a wallet to hold both banknotes and cards.

The accessory you seek is sometimes called a money clip. You can find products with wide clips on the leather credit card partitions in many variations.

Try Coach or Bosca. Check sites for executive gifts and accessories.
