Me and My boyfriend have been dating for awhile now. Sometimes he mentions marriage other times he says things like he wants to move off to another state to finish school. A lot of the plans he made, he made before I was in the picture. I don't want to mess up his plans, I just want to know that I am in his future plans too. I drop little hints that I want to marry him, and I have even told him straight out that I wish we were already married. He said he thought the same, but then a day or so passed and he was saying he wanted to move. I dont know what to think anymore!

He's smart in wanting to finish school. I wouldn't try to put myself before that if I were you. Selfishness doesn't help a marriage. If you do get married it will help both of you. You have no idea how difficult it can be to finish school when you're married, then the kids come. It's better to have that done first. You have the rest of your life to worry about marriage. Take the time to do it right. If it doesn't work out it wasn't meant to be.

LahLah - you and he need to sit down and have an actual discussion about your futures. Dropping hints and mentioning marriage is no way to communicate. You're adults and you are talking about spending the rest of your life with this person - it's serious and you need to talk about it.

does he use the words we? because my husband always used the word we from the very beginning. when he was told he was being sent to miami for a job function, he said only if he could take me with him. and that was after two weeks of fooling around. we weren't even dating at the time. when a guy knows....he doesn't stall. ever.

My niece had a similar bf. He dropped her the day after they went looking for wedding rings. This guy does not know what he wants yet, so be careful with your heart.

he is not interested in marriage: this how it usuallly goes,
He wants to go away to college, then he needs to find a job first, then a better job next, then he is offered a position in another city, then he needs to save up and before you know it you are old and grey, move on please, with or without him.

I dont know, maybe he's just waiting for the right time to ask you... or maybe he's completely leading you on. The best way to know is to ask him where he sees himself in 5 years and see if he includes you in his answer.

If he's not done with school I'd say drop it. All you're doing is pressuring him, which probably will not help your cause.
