Mostly all nightclubs are required to check ID. And for good reason. I am 29 and I would rather not have a bunch of kids running around drunk and acting stupid when I am trying to have a good time. There are places where it is possible to sneak in, either by fake ID or just knowing someone who works there.

Having worked in a club for a bit, I can say that ID checking is done for mixed reasons. Primarily, its done in protection of the clubs liquor licence- and not everyone looks their age. So if a bouncer lets an underager waltz on in, who proceeds to get plastered, and then leaves that club and a. get in an accident, motor vehicle or otherwise, or b. end up in hospital with alcohol poisoning; then the club is held accountable. Thats a $6,0000 fine on the spot for the bouncer, and anyone who served them drinks, and a $27,000 fine on the establishment. Also their license might get pulled because of it, and therefore- they lose the ability to serve alcohol, and their business dies. Secondly, it also gives the bouncer a moment to check ot only the ID, but the person it belongs to, and whether they seem like a. They'll cause trouble inside, and b. how drunk they already are upon entry. Often it's just an intimidation technique as well. But often it does pay to check! Hope this helped.

Most big cities do, because if they have anyone in there that is underage, it,s a pretty hefty fine, as for the sneaking in part, they will all try & hope for the best, it all depends on how they present themselfs at the door, & with fashion these days everyone looks older than they really are. It,s a changing world.

Some nightclubs have teen nights earlier in the night. Nightclubs are over-rated anyway. You're not missing out too much. There are plenty of time ahead of you to bar hop and get bored with it.

they're supposed to, but sometimes people know people and they sneak in or they are let in.
If the establishment is checked and they find underage customers they will most likely get a fine.
Some kids have fake id's so that's how they get in.

well if u are from maine there are a few dance clubs that teens the age 18 and up can go to and there is also a chem free nigh were kids from age 12 to 18 can go and dance
