If I wear a size 4-6 in juniors in usa sizes what size skirt would fit me in british sizes?

I bought a couple skirts a few years ago in London that where marked a size 12 but they seem really small and I am wondering if they are girls sizes because I just saw some clothes on the mannequins in the window that I liked and went in and bought a couple skirts. I want to buy some on ebay now but am not sure what size I would wear in ladies or womens in british sizes.

I don't know how this question ended up in Thanksgiving

You would be a 6-8 in the UK. You most likely bought children's sized clothes if they are too small.
