" The Way Things Work " now in one volume instead of the two I have. The book tells how to make anything from soap to a simple lathe. How to actually bring civilization back if the world takes a dump.

only one? wow...tough.

Other than The Bible, my top book would have to be A Tree Grows In Brooklyn (Betty Smith). It's basically the life story of a girl named Francie, who grows up in Brooklyn during WW2. It's got some deep thoughts, some great stories, and a lot of life lessons. Very sweet book, with lovable characters. My absolute favorite!
