Because the majority of people on here you wouldn't walk up to in public and ask for help. They're trash, and being trash mitigates being uneducated and or mean-spirited. When a person lives life engulfed by jealousy they attempt to tear others down.....When you are a person of financial means, intelligence or style those whom do not possess it will try and sabotage your life, thusly trying to make you feel foolish. It is you and I that must rise above it and just laugh at them. Plus, remember, most on here are just bored students. There are many other venues to go and ask serious questions and get real answers.....just do some research. good luck and email me if you want serious questions answered.

I asked this particular question a few days ago and got all kinds of answers even smart remarks. People will be as rude and as nasty as they can because it is an open forum and they do not need to use their intelligence. I do not see the point of degrading someone who is asking a legitimate question. I always try to answer with respect to the person who is asking. We can learn a lot from one another. There are some really educated people who offer the honest truth and right information. And most of us have experienced something that can help someone else. Unfortunately those who never bothered getting an education or those who have forgotten their morals and values tend to answer because their smart remarks will earn them a laugh or two. Too bad that the rest of us have to deal with this.

This may happen outside but here at Yahoo answers you would never be treated as an object of derision .Rest assured.(with the exception of a question which is outside the Community Guidelines) Yahoo will just keep silent. Because Yahoo believes that a questioner is somebody having a genuine problem. If you byepass him/her you would in a way be turning away some thirsty traveller who has come to a fountain of learning to quench his thirst. And in turn you will also be kept away from the fountain like the Pandavas by the Yaksha who was the guardian of the lake. You are doing a disservice to yourself. May be the question is beyond you (this usually happens).but the proper response is to disarmigly admit it and ,if possible, direct the enquirer to a better source. I will share a secret with you a person who gets upset when confronted is usually an ignoramus but posing as a pandit. As they say in a Sanskrit he complets the rest with a display of anger and derision making you feel small for asking that question(of which he'she himself/herselt does not know the answer but is too proud to admit it). The only response in such cases is just to pity the poor person. To own up one's limitations one needs to have a great soul. Newton used to say that his knowledge is like a grain of sand in the desert. It is not for nothing that they say in India that to get a proper preceptor needs merit.

Well depending on the question, if you ask a question that you already know the answer to then why would you ask the question in the first place. Also some people do it just to be funny or just to hurt the other persons feelings.

Sometimes people do that because they don't know the answer to a question. Also it doesn't matter to some people what they write and classify it as an answer, they are just basically after points.

Because you are asking stupid questions, or trying to get people to do you homework for you.

Try asking questions of substance, NOT stuff like "How do I know if this boy likes me?"
