I heard that people are paying outrageous amounts of money for PS3. Anyone know for a fact the most someone has paid?

I just saw an auction on ebay with 33 bidders that was up to $50,000!!!! thats absolutely rediculous. i doubt the bidder who bid that will come through and actually pay for it

I read where a person paid $2600 for one. Here is an article where the bids on ebay are up to $2100:

And it's silly to pay 4 to 5 time the suggested retail just so you can have bragging rights. What if there is a recall because of a manufacturing defect? You will be without it until the fix or replace it. Is that worth $2000+ dollars?
