its a part of Asian culture. yes it is in the pacific island by its location but a lot of Filipinos consider themselves Asian.to the one response of being of Hispanic culture: yes we have a bit of Spanish in out history. if you would like check up the Spanish-American war and the battles that were fought there. also there are a lot of different influences in the Philippines throughout our history.

Filipino are part of Asian culture. Malay is the prinicipal people in the Philippines, islam was brought by traders and proselytizers from the Indonesian islands before the Spaniards colonized the Philippines.

Filipinos are asian , with a diverse culture to include spanish , american , as well as other european and asian influences . That is part of the unique culture of the islands .

Let's put it this way.
Geographically and physically, asian but with heart and spirit of hispanics, and thinking like north americans. We also have big dashes of chinese and arabic influences too.
With all these convergence, we are, at the moment, at crossroads of great cultural confusion.
Its a curse because we really dont have any really solid indentity, trying to be all at the the same time.
Its a gift because that's makes us very adaptable,

Yes they are Asian, however they have a Spanish heritage as well, since they were occupied by the Spanish for 500 years. They have no relation to Hispanics, since the term was not in use in the English language until the late 20th century.

It's more of Hispanic culture. You should know that Philippines is under Spanish colonization for 300 years, so do that math.

I was with a Filipino guy for a couple of years. His family considered themselves more of a hispanic culture and VERY Catholic! Hope that helps!
