Your asking them about their relegion..what really makes them mad is when they say they dont believe in god and then you tell them they are going to hell...since they dont believe in god there is no hell to them

They resent the implied followup question: "If not, why not?" Or it might be, "Are you sure it's the right God?" Most people who ask the question, especially if they aren't close friends, have an agenda. They are out to proselytize, to convert their answerer to their point of view. In other words, it's not really a question but the beginning of a spiritual conquest. The asker isn't interested in the answer.

It doesn't have to be this way, but evangelical Christians have developed the reputation. It's complicated by the fact that there are many examples of evangelical hypocrisy. It appears to be all about the praise and emotion, the jewelry and the companionship, and very little about living a life of prudence and service. It seems as superficial as politics and marketing, so people naturally distrust any invitation. (Does the asker want to hear about MY faith journey? I didn't think so...)

It's not hate, it's caution, self protection against an organization that would dictate how one is to think, believe and act, without feeling compelled to demonstrate with its own actions. There are many good Christians who preach their sermons without using words, but those are not the ones we hear and see coming toward us with an innocent smile and a wave.

People are afraid of the "unknown" and to ask them if they believe brings to mind what they don't know.
My "belief" is this, People who hate on Christians are afraid of what they don't know or something, ( maybe a prayer was not answered, or something tragic happened to them or they had a bad life) happened to them to make them hate and not believe.
They will deny it but I know from what I have seen that was always the case.
One good thing about them coming in here and hating on us, is, they will learn something, even if they deny it or push it out, they learn something, we plant the seed, God tends the garden so to speak.

people don't hate Christians. The Christian beliefs (as with all religious beliefs) are despised when they are used to influence government, retard education, create homophobia bigotry sexism and hinder medical science. By using these beliefs to do these things, Christians are WARRING their unproven beliefs on everyone.

To ask some one if they believe in God is only offensive depending on which way it is asked, if you choose to ask people in a demeaning intimidating way then yes it is offensive.

People are generally accepting of most things.

Christians seek to ram religion down other peoples throats - that's why you get a bad response. Just the same as anyone else being so inconsiderate of others.

Learn some manners and tolerance of other peoples feelings and beliefs.

Or. carry on and keep getting Christianity such a bad name that the churches are emptying of people who are so embarrassed by so called Christians behaviour!!!!

people hate christians...simply because "no servant is greater than his master"...as jesus put. if they hated a sinless man...surely they will hate his followers.

it pisses people off because it strikes their heart with an inconvenient truth.....and speaks to their conscience in a way that noting else can...making them realize they will have to give an account one day.
