Yeah, did about 700,000 worth of damage to the marina up in Crescent City.
It was caused by a 8.2 or so earthquake off the coast of Japan.
Here in Hawaii we had some unusual surges in the tide, and mini-tsunamis at Nawiliwili (on Kaua`i). We were fortunate that there wasn't more damage.

A samll plane yesterday made an emergency landing...no one was hurt, yet it made the "news"
Fear is a WONDERFUL motivator, just watch the evening news. It's ALL bad, and that's what make people feel good about themselves, like watching a Jerry Springer show...gee, their so messed up, I feel better!
Know what news does NOT make the news? Thing people can DO something about, because it raises their awareness, and makes them feel uncomfortable since they are NOT doing anything about the problem reported.
The human being is one f--ked up entity, take that to the bank.

Yes, it was in Crescent City in Northern California as a result of the large earthquake in Japan who had a sunami as well. Further south in Santa Cruz damage was done there as well.

because, believe it or no longer, Obama would not administration the earth's tectonic plates or ecosystem and as such is powerless to stay away from tsunamis, earthquakes, hurricanes or the different organic failures. the purely thanks to stay away from such issues from taking position is to plug up the fault strains with the biggest tube of Loctite widely used to guy and stitch a huge blanket to conceal up the hollow interior the ozone layer. be at liberty to bypass on those entirely sensible recommendations.

I heard about it but the news report said it was a "tiny" tsunami --only a few inches high. I'm surprised to hear that it caused damage.
