If you didn't get it by now, then you're not going to get one at the $500/$600 value until the 2nd shipment. Maybe Best Buy will do what they did last year: hoard up all their shipments and then have a sale before Christmas.
If you got the time, you can always drop by stores every day and ask if there's any new shipments.

If you don't want to go the stores and wait like all the other folk, go to www.froogle.com and punch in PS3. You should find any other online resellers that you can buy it from.
As with all online purchases, just make sure you feel comfortable with the person/business that you buy it from.

At BestBuy in about 4 months...but you might wanna try Craigslist for your city in the meantime. It's gonna cost ya.
