I've been to France a few times and I'm actually going next week!
I've enjoyed my time there. Some people in Paris can be snobs especially when they find out I'm an American. (Thanks to the ignorant tourists from the US.)
Paris is a beautiful city as is Versailles. I love the D'Orsay much better than the Lourve. One thing I have not been crazy about was the food. It's OK though.
The history of Europe keeps me going back! I've been to Portugal, Spain, France, Denmark, and the UK. I keep an eye on opportunities to move to Europe!!!

A lovely country, but on a downhill slope economically. When the government caved in on the labor reform laws, it was the beginning of the end of France as a viable economic society; unless the labor laws are fixed, France (and much of the rest of Europe) will be headed toward third-world status. Having ministers in the French government on the take from Saddam's regime did not encourage Americans to have a favorable view of the country.

As I work for french company, I have been to France many times, the roads are great as you can drive as fast as you like. The food is excellent also. If I was to live in France, I would buy a large carp fishing lake with facilities to allow other people to fish there

I am an American living in France. I live in a small village in Lorraine. I liked France enough to marry my french husband. Or maybe I loved my husband enough to live in France. It has pros and cons like everything in life. Pros: The insurance is wonderful, they pay you to stay home with your small children, the baguettes ... the boulangeries in general, the people light up when I speak and ask me where I get my alluring accent from, I am exotic and mysterious for my neighbors. Cons: I really miss my family and friends, I miss lots of American products (Kraft mac and cheese, peanut butter, cake mix), all of the movies are in french, it is much more difficult for me to make close friends (because of the language issues...although speaking french is getting easier), all of the restaurants close after 2 and stop seating after 1, In the US, I knew how to do, and took for granted, all of the little things; getting insurance, switching telephone companies, government paperwork, road signs, etc... Here, all of the little things pose big challenges for me because all of the riles and regulations are different.
France itself is a gorgeous country filled with many warn and inviting people. It has taken some time for my 'newness' to wear off, but my neighbors and the other parents at my daughters school are very friendly and kind.... especially if they ask if my grandparents served in WWII (they did).

Hello, I LOVE France, the nature, the language, the history, the culture, the people, but most of all.......look at my nickname (and it has nothing in common with Paris Hilton). I would like to live in France, but there is no place like home.

hi. I lived in France for six years and just loved it. The people, the language, the region, weather, food and drink and the culture and customs. I am really saddened that Irish and english people usually have a low opinion of the french. They are wrong.

It a nice place like any where once you get to know the people, I did not like it once but now I have learnt the language it is easier to get to know the place, as for the English not liking the French it is an old tradition after all we have been stealing each others land for hundreds of years.

France is a lovely country, unfortunately ruined by the French politicians. What are you doing writing in English hasn`t your government made that illegal?
