When I turned the computer screen on, it had all these colorful lines dancing across the screen and it was making this long scretching noise (like when there is an error on your television set). What is wrong with my monitor?

It kind of locked like that, instad the lines were moving across the screen really fast and everything was kind of white.

This is good for the monitor to do. It is essentially degaussing your screen. You don't need to worry about this.

Edited to add:

Lookup pictures of monitors Degaussing and let me know if that is what it looks like. My monitor does this every time I turn it on. It also has a button to degauss it.

I retract my above statement. What you initially described sounded like degaussing. This is not the case. You probably have a piece of hardware going bad. This could be your video card or your monitor. Does this happen all the time? Can you try this monitor out on another PC?

My son is epileptic and many times has seizures by the nighttime. all of us recognize this for confident even as he comes to a decision to sleep after 930 am. we've had an ambulatory EEG done to verify this. there is extremely no rhyme or reason behind the nighttime time seizures. as far as i might want to tell yet perhaps a med replace in dose, frequency or purely the med itself might want to do him some solid! My son is on Topamax by how....solid success! the first human being is terrible and that i need to assert sorry for him!
