Most people prefer turkey or ham and they are both pretty easy. If you can cook a chicken you can cook a turkey... just takes longer. There should be directions on the packaging on the turkey. There are lots and lots of sites to help with either of those. If you dont find enough on the site just try searching. If you cook the turkey make sure you take the stuff out of both ends, and either make giblet gravy, cook and feed the to the dog, or just toss in the circular file.
Try this one:

be sure to take the plastic bag containing the giblets out of the turkey before roasting. Nothing more embarrassing than pulling a half melted plastic bag out of the turkey in front of everyone. This will be in the chest cavity or the neck cavity. Make the meal simple with mashed potatoes a vegetable, cranberry sauce, and dessert. Simple is better. or better yet have some of your guests bring a dish and the recipe to share. 1-800-BUTTERBALL will be available for last minute turkey instructions. Make sure that sucker is thawed before cooking or it will be a disaster. A turkey takes three days to thaw in the fridge or you can do it in one day with warm water baths. I am so excited for you!!!! We are going to a restaurant boring.
Best Ever Deviled Eggs
6 hard boiled eggs sliced in half lengthwise put yolks in separate bowl
Add to yolks
1/4 cup Miracle Whip
1 tea. Mustard
1 tes. vinegar (white)
1/2 tea. Salt
Mash together with yolks fill holes in sliced eggs top with a sprinkle of paprika.
Everyone loves these and they are simple and pretty.

I think it is great cooking for your whole family. I am 29 years old and have been cooking for 20 years.. I would have to say that my favorite recipe is pumpkin rolls..
start by preheat oven 350 degrees.
ingredients:
eggs, pumpkin puree, vanilla extract,
self rising flour, granulated sugar, powder sugar, pumpkin pie spice, stick butter,
cream cheese, waxed paper, cookie sheet, cooking spray, paper towels , sifter
Prep: spray the cookie sheet with cooking spray and line with wax paper.. the cooking spray is to hold the wax paper in place and the wax paper is to pick the cake up easily.
in a medium bowl combine 2/3c. pumpkin puree, 3 eggs, 1c. sugar, 3/4c. flour, 1tsp. pumpkin pie spice. Mix well and pour onto lined cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes no less no more.
While the cake part is cooking line paper towels two of them connected on the table and pour some powdered sugar in your sifter and sprinkle powdered sugar all over the paper towels using sifter.
when you take the cake out of the oven carefully flip it onto the powdered paper towels and peel off the wax paper and sprinkle the cake with powdered sugar and roll and put aside.
(continue to bake till you run out of mix usually 3-5 rolls can be made from each can it just depends on what size you get.)
Filling:
Put 8oz. Cream cheese in a bowl and 1/2 stick of butter and cream well. Add vanilla, and slowly add 1c. powdered sugar.
When cake is completely cooled unroll and spread the filling and roll back up unpealing the paper towels as you go. when completely rolled sprinkle with powdered sugar and chill for at least 2 hours then cut and serve and enjoy!
I hope you like my family recipe.. If you use it and like it let me know plz...

we can be cooking a great turkey this 12 months. we are homestead in the U. S. this wintry climate with our son so having a great dinner with him would be great. final trip we've been remote places and that they have not got Thanksgiving in Hungary and that's perplexing to locate an entire turkey as nicely. they do no longer seem to love roasted turkey there, you're able to purchase an entire goose or duck for much less then turkey. i grew to become into finding on the frozen ducks right here in between the foodstuff shops and it grew to become into over $seventy six.!! In Hungary it would be much less then $20. for an entire goose. wish everybody has a great trip

Keep it simple....use recipies that you are comfortable with for the most part and then each of you try one new recipe....use as many short cuts as possible...i.e. Mrs Smith's Pumpkin Pie is really good....have fun and remember that this is above all a time to just be together as a family.
