My baby dropped about 2 weeks ago, and since then I've been really sore! My whole body (mostly crotch area and belly) is sore all the time, and I get sharp pains in my vagina. I've asked my doctor about this, and she always gives me really vague answers! Her words were "it's normal" and before I could ask her anything else she said she had another patient to see and she would see me in 2 weeks, and then walked out the door!

Has anyone else ever been sore like this? or have these sharp pains?

Thanks! :)

first off your doctor shouldn't blow off your concerns like that even if what your feeling is normal she should still discuss it with you and you should tell her that!! but in my opinion what your feeling is in fact normal I'm 38 weeks pregnant and sore all the time as well when I'm walking sometimes I get those sharp pains also..I have discussed this with my own doctor and she told me when the baby drops it's uncomfortable when the baby moves around because he doesn't have much room and the pressure from him is what is causing me to be so sore down there.

I have this pain, I am almost 35 weeks as well, my baby has been in position since 28 weeks and the pain gets so bad I cannot walk and I even cry. My doc says its normal also. Something about hormones durning pregnancy softens that bone and the babys head pushing makes it sore. There really isn't anything you can do but take it easy. I know thats not what you want to hear, I know how painful it is, I really do, just think in 2 weeks you will be full term and pacing up and down the stairs could help baby come out. Good luck.

Congratulations! I am 39 wks and incredibly sore. This is child # 8 and the pressure is sometimes unbearable to the point that I can't even walk. Some of it could be my age, 42, but most of it is just the baby moving further down to prepare for birth. Alot of times my pelvis burns with movement. Sharp vaginal pains are normal also. Hang in there it's almost over. By the way if your doctor can't take the time to answer your questions, use a different Dr. next time around, and make sure you let the him or her know that you are displeased and why.

If I remember right when I was pg with my daughter it felt like my pubic bone was breaking in half. I would get sharp pains and fell really sore all the time. Your body releases a hormone that allows your hips to spread sometime even your pubic symphysis ( the hard cartilage that connects the two halves of your coxas, your hips, also can seperate....very painful.) I am 33 weeks and it is starting to happen with me too, i started sleeping with a pillow between my knees and it seems to help. I hope your dr is not always rushing you out when you have questions, your are paying her to answer your questions she should take all the time you need. Good Luck!

Unfortunately, this is pretty normal. Try some light stretching to relieve some of the discomfort. Try putting your feet up. I had varicose veins "down there" toward the end of my pregnancy that caused sharp pains. You are almost there; hang in there; your reward is just around the corner!!!

Yes it is normal, After my 2 boys dropped I had sharp vaginal pain and very uncomfortable. I like midwifes best because they are more sympathetic than MD's.

The best things for that is WALK your brains out lol. Walk around the block if you like on one.. do what every nessisary to walk it helps about 99% when deliverying and it goes much quicker.
