My son wants Chrono cross for Christmas....
I haven't been able to find it locally...Infact, a guy from the video game store in our mall claimed they are rare and go for about $200.00 and that if I find one online cheaper than that, it is probably fake...

So, I checked ebay and have found some for around 24.99...but have no way of knowing if they are just copies or what.

Have you heard of this game? Is it really rare and what is an average price that I should pay for it?? Because 200.00 just is NOT happening!! Any help would be VERY much appreciated...he wants this game so bad that it is the ONLY one he's asked for!!!

chrono cross is a two disc set for the playstation.

it is a decent game, but when they made it, they didnt' make it as good as it should have been because prices got cut.

i have sold five or six copies of it on ebay - all real games. it usually sells for around 18-23 dollars now, but used to sell for as much as 32 dollars. they will almost always be used copies. it is hard to find a new, sealed game. if it's new and sealed, it might go for 40-60 dollars, perhaps even higher

the cover has a picture of a purple haired boy, and a blonde haired girl in red clothing. the box/case is the same size as many other two-four disc games, the same size as a game that only has one disc.

the ones you found for 25 are actual copies of the game, i'm willing to bet.

--------

chrono trigger, for the super nintendo sells for around 50 dollars, NOT 200. if it is in a box, new and unsealed, it might be around 200.

Yes I am an expert in Chrono Cross(which by the way is the sequel to Chrono Trigger from Super Nintendo) which your son probably has.
No the game should not cost you 200. When I had chrono trigger, I 'accidentally' smashed it. I wanted a new one, so I contacted a company in Japan that actually made the games. While they stopped making them, they could make me one for an addition fee.
Whatever I didn't care(wasn't my money anyways it was my parents hahaha)
Anyways the game came, nothing wrong with it, had advertising about the newest games out(which was at the time playstation 1) and it only costed me around 60.

Go to ebay, and set a bid. Realize that however if someone really wants that chrono cross, they will do anything for it(money is not a problem). Thus you'd be in a pickle. This is what you do:
1.contact the buyer(request info. on the disc, is it damaged, how long will it take to mail?)
2.DO NOT BID IF INSTINCTS TELL U NOT TO!(check the listing of the item, does the buyer accept refunds? If not then dont go for it, unless unopened or unused then you could pay for a bad game, and not get ur money back).
3.put a bid on the item(just the minimum is fine)
4.watch the item. Keep an eye on it, mark on a calendar or schedule book as to when it expires.
5....did u win the item? If so u will recieve an invoice, u send a check, personal money order, or paypal, and when the money clears the seller will send the item out.(Make sure the seller gets a tracking number for the item)
6.Recieve item, feedback to seller, and if it works. Great. If not, then report it to the people at ebay.

Sadly, I missed the enrolling question. :( So I'll answer anyway, even though I won't be graded. (but if you could accept one more Ravenclaw I would be very grateful! Hahaha!) Charms: La Barbe Cultivez - A spell derived from French, makes the victim grow a long beard. The only way to reverse this spell is to use a a Beard Shearing Draught. Shaving will only make it grow back even thicker. CoMC; I think that this rule is preposterous. I believe that upon Ministry Ruling (e.g XXXXX) the Magical Creatures should be executed only in a humane way if found to be a serious danger to Muggles and skilled wizards. I think magical creatures should always be protected if found not to be a serious threat. DADA: I think, as Boggarts will not harm wizards, it would be a small, timid creature. Due to the fact that Boggarts can take on many different forms, I think that a Boggart would look rather wispy and ghost like. Like a ghost crossed with a gnome, if that makes sense. Herbology: Muggle legend says that there are two ways a werewolf has been said to take on full Werewolf form. In full moon, or when species of the plant Aconitum (also known as Wolfsbane, Women's Bane, or Monkshood) are in full bloom. This was apparently first recorded in a 1941 Muggle Film, entitled 'The Wolf Man'. Although this is said to have been more Hollywood than history, and most folklore tales say that the process is involuntary and sometimes not even permanent. Werewolf existance is usually dismissed as a figment of the imagination by muggle scientists, and most Muggles tend to believe that Werewolves are not indeed real.

Chrono Cross is not rare. If you go to amazon.com or a similar site, you will be able to find a brand new copy of the game. I believe amazon is about $15. It's an older game, but it's definently worth it.

I think the guy at the game store probably thought you were referring to Chrono Trigger: the SNES predecessor to Chrono Cross.
