sorry decided to answer this question before I knew it had a Islamic overtone ..but to be honest no matter what faith you are think it would be economics ...... no money no bread...... no bread cant live ...... so survival kicks in no matter what the faith ...as to the dutch.....their country their law ...religion cant rule a country ....especially in the west as we are mostly Christin.....and democratic if the Islamic faith does eventually take over then it will be a democratic decision

In the United States, the "Freedom" Jefferson wrote about was actually financial. If you have money, you are free to choose. If you have no money, you are enslaved to your creditors.
*I'm beginning to feel like a broken record on this* The Constitution's first ammendment, "Freedom of Religion" was penned by Jefferson, Madison, and Jay. Originally, Patrick Henry was to be included, but he insisted that all men with voting rights be required to tithe a specific church. The others all agreed that such a requirement would make them (us) no better than the English who were required to pay homage to both the crown and the Church of England. And if you look at the church during the days of Henry VIII, you quickly see that they were one and the same. They convinced Patrick Henry to become the Governor for the state of Virginia and in so doing, deprived him of a say in the writing of this country's Constitution.
So, having said all of that (again). The answer to your question is "economic." Without money, you'll not be free to practice your chosen religion -- even if you choose no religion.

Freedom of all types is important... once we allow any freedom to become dominant or withdrawn we start the downward spiral to dictatorship, religious or economic... God or Mammon?
