In the entire series of Yu-gi-oh, we never get to meet Yugi Mutou parents, were they dead or something?

His mother is shown in some japanese episode that was never shown in the U.S.Apparently, his father is on a business trip throughout the entire show. So, he isn't an orphan

No one knows. I guess that it's assumed that they are dead. But it would be interesting to see who he got his looks from [falls ovut of chair laughing] But I guess that it's the start of a trend. I heard from a highly un-reliable source that Yugi is Jaden and the dude in the suit's dad on Yu-gi-oh GX, but that they don't know it because he's in a coma or something. ^-^

everyone knows he has a Grandpa I think he has a mother not sure never heard about the father

They never said. I just assumed they were dead, since he's lived with his grandfather for years.

I'm not so sure myself. I think they probably died during an excavation or something with his grandpa. (This is my opinion,though.)
