As a sufferer of this horrible pain whilst pregnant with all three babies, I found getting on all fours on the floor and gently rocking back and forth helped a great deal, I also bought a Bump Belt which holds your bump up and moves babs up too, if you live in UK you can get a mailorder catalogue called Blooming Marvellous, its got great gadgets in it that help you through pregnancy, birth etc!! Tell her good luck and the pain we go through is well worth it!! All the best to you both!!

If she has been exercising during her pregnancy then she might try an exercise lying on her side that would cause the baby to move on it's own. If she has NOT been exercising throughout, it is not a good idea to begin now. Perhaps the baby is so large that it can't move. It does happen. Usually when that is the case the baby is transverse. If it continues to become a serious worry, make sure her obgyn is aware. You are kind to ask for her. Your support will mean a lot.

The simplest remedy is to lie on your side, opposite of the pain. This may help relieve the pressure on the nerve. Avoid heavy lifting and minimize standing for long periods of time. If you experience pressure while standing, try elevating one foot and resting it on something. Swimming may also ease discomfort.
You may experience relief by applying heat or cold to the troubled area. Your health care provider may recommend acetaminophen to relieve the pain.
It is important to contact your health care provider if the pain becomes constant, or increases in severity or frequency.

This happened to me when I was pregnant. She needs to kind of stretch as much as possible, also eating lots of banana's will help also, it kind of helps with the spasms. When I had it a warm bath also helped. My baby sat so low my whole pregnancy that even my doctor was shocked that I could stand and be up as long as I was. She will make it, it can be trying sometimes, but I hope these tricks work for her, they did for me.

Try some prenatal yoga. Early morning strecthes and moving around so as to keep the baby moving might help. If all else fails, consider seeing a chiropracter. Good luck, and I hope she feels better.

Ouch. She should spend a lot of time on all fours and try not to lie down too much or sit back on the sofa.
A birthing ball is really helpful for that.
