No, you don't. Jeeps are very expensive to repair. Everything is electronic, even things one would think could be a simple fix. The lock on the lift gate broke on mine and it was going to cost $500.00 to fix, because the had to do all this electronic **** to it. Couldn't just be easy. My mechanic has worked at Jeep dealers and others his entire life and he says Jeeps are one of the very worst vehicles as far as repair costs and durability.

Main issue with the Jeeps is the tranny. The Jeeps are made by chrysler, which always require a tranny rebuild every 100K miles. Ask when the tranny was rebuilt, if an automatic. Otherwise every system is going to have a lot of wear at 1/4 million miles. I wouldn't spend more than $2500 for the truck.
And just cuz I'm a stickler for good info: The 5.2 liter was the famous 318. The 4.7L is the newer, smaller engine.

going solely by miles is the biggest mistake people make when buying a car. how much is it? If its over $3500 than don't buy it.
each auto is different, some can handle high miles without any problems while others never make it over 100k.
rule of thumb, always have it inspected by a mechanic

The 318's (4.7l v-8) are pretty bulletproof.... Jeeps in that year have a rear-end noise (carrier bearings) And transmissions tend to go out at that range.... Also factory c.d. player craps out....Now.... If nothing has been done to the front-end....I wouldnt even think of buying it.... It will need $$$ Ball joints...Tie rod ends...Tracking bars.....
