It would seem creepy to me if to get e-mail from people I did not know even though I said it was alright.

I think if they say it they mean it, or else they wouldn't have said so in the first place. I don't say it often, but when I have told someone they could contact me if they wanted to....I meant it & I've been contacted by others who either needed clarification, or just someone to talk to about a particular issue that went beyond what was appropriate for this forum of Q&A.

Yes, it's okay with me because there are things I want to tell them and not in this forum. So a person has 2 options to contact me. (email or 360 page) I don't have a problem.

I had problems with a stlaker a while back, so I kept the link but disabled it. Now I forgot how to re enable it, but the link to my 360 shows, and I figure people can get in touch with me that way if they want to.

Dragon lets people contact her using her 360 page, but not email or IM. Better that way.
Some people don't really mean it, they just didn't change the settings.

Usually, if someone says that it is okay to contact them via email it is for a valid reason. I have done it lots of times to help someone out when they just needed someone to listen to them vent.

If I tell someone they can email me, I don't mind if they do. I get a lot of strange ones, and one told me to mind my own business after he asked for sympathy (bi-polar, I'm guessing!) and one called me a pretty filthy name for joking with him, but on the whole, they're ok, and it's a neat way to hear from others.

Sure, I really dont mind if people contact me , its a great way to meet people with the same intrest as you.

I assume that people who say it, mean it. If I ever did, I'd create a new email address.

I guess some people might be bothered but I put it was okay. When I hear from folks it doesn't bother me. I kind of like hearing from folks.
