YES!! Try it you'll love it. Inexpensive but good brands that you can find at the drugstores are Milani and Revlon.

I like Revlon Super Lustrous (very moist, nice texture) in Love That Red and Certainly Red but I sometimes mix mine with a little brown lipstick to give it depth and richness and/or mix with a brown lip pencil.

Try Milani's SHINE-ON SHEER COLOR LIPSTICK in Chili or Candy Apple or COLOR PERFECT (great coverage) in Scarlet.

I think red lipstick looks good on just about every skintone. But I think it especially looks best on darker skintones. My favorite makeup is Victoria's Secret. They have great glosses and lipsticks. And you can often get great deals online. I got a free lip kit (reg $24) with 8 different shades just for ordering a sweater online.

On Tyra they said that people with dark skin can wear any shade of red lipstick. As far as brands, try Fashion Fair, it's for people of color.
