I would get him in to counseling. There has to be a reason for his actions. And the only way to find out is by taking him to therapy. As for throwing him out, in most states. At 17 years of age you are still responsible for him, and you can actually get in to trouble your self for throwing him out on the streets. Try getting him in to a half way house. Or a program where he can be placed into a group or foster home. This will get him out of your house and keep you from getting evicted. And also give him a place to live while he is going through counseling to figure out what his problem is. And what you can do about it. The best thing is for you to go to counseling as a family, along with his one on one therapy.( PLEASE DON'T GIVE UP ON HIM) He needs you.
Good Luck

This kid has a BAD attitude. He doesn't need a hug, ne needs a foot up his ***. At his age, he damn well knows what he's thinking.
I would speak with the prosecutor in your stepson's case, explain the agony at home, and beg the prosecutor to keep him in jail where he belongs. IF or after he gets out, send him directly to a therapist, and make it absolutely clear that he will NOT live in your home ever again. Your wife needs to suck it up and realize the kid is a devil...not her little angel.

well im 17 yrs old and normally when a teenager does something wrong there is a reason behinde it, like if they are trying to impress somebody or get somebody's attention.. so sit down and talk to him or get his mom to talk to him let him know that he is fixing to mess everything up and if it doesnt work and he keeps getting into trouble next time he gets in trouble and you get a phone call from the jail tell them to leave him in there for a little while and see if that wakes him up a little...

Have you tried giving him a hug? Taking time off to spend just the two of you...camping or something he has to use his hands/strength...sounds like an attention seeking kid, try the reverse of what you're doing now and see what happens.

that's rather useful to call up your close by cop shop and ask them. i comprehend the place I stay, you does not get into worry. you may smoke at any age you choose, you in effortless terms would desire to be 19 to truly purchase the cigarettes. a rather good variety of young ones smoke in my city - each and every extreme college rather has a chosen smoking section the place scholars of any age can pass to smoke. law enforcement officials bypass by utilising each and every of the time and not say or do something.

I knew of someone who had a situation similiar to yours. They placed their child ( a girl ) in bootcamp. It did help her. The parents have be nuetral while their child is in a place like this. It is rough, but it will benefit them in the long run. Good luck. Hope this gives you a direction to consider.

When it comes to problems with kids, have you ever tried turning off the TV and simply hitting them?
