No the Philosopher's Stone is the perfecting of something, the perfect of what you are creating and the perfection of the Alchemist, in mind and spirit.
Stem Cell Research is not a modern Philosopher's Stone, for two reasons, the research it's self is not perfect and you are creating an imperfect beings, we as human beings are imperfect.
If it is to be called anything it would have to be the opposite of a Philosopher's Stone.

of the discovery of adult stem cells, not only are they superior
but they also dont cause many of the horrid side effects of using
unnatural embryonics in and adult body of all th ings

Stem cell research has to do with purce Biology, also natural science. It has nothing to do with Philosophy. That's a total different area.
