Denie Denie Denie....
Lie Lie Lie...
Ask your mom for help...

Why is it such A big deal?
So what if he knows? Its not like he is going to kill you if you have a periode?

try hiding your tampons or pads with your moms stuff.

Dad should know.
He doesn't want to know and doesn't want any details.
Talk to Mom.
Maybe she should could casually mention how grown up you have become (as parents are often doing) in front of your Dad. He'll probably agree. Then, that night when parents talk about the stuff they don't want you to know about, she can break it to him gently. It's the "Oh, honey! Our baby girl is growing up. First it was diapers and 2 am feedings and now it bras and her period. She's a young woman now."
Dad will be thoroughly disgusted and completely anguished at this point. He may even cry. It's best that this be done without you to watch.
Mom can just say that you've been getting your period and that you and she have talked about it and that he should know what is going on.
That's it.
Don't bring it up to him. It will only embarrass both of you.

Why would you need to keep it a secret? As if it's some kind of big deal? it's not like you've got herpes or got pregnant or something...

Get over it - you're female, you're going to have menstrual cycles and any man with half a brain knows this; he's in denial to think that his own daughter is in some way immune to it.

If your dad is a "macho" type who has a hard time talking (or thinking) about female issues, ask mom to let him in on this 'development' and let her work him through it. If he gets mad for ANY reason related to this, he's being insensitive and you can tell him I said so.

Just don't tell him. I don't think I told my dad when I got mine, I'm sure my mom did. It's something he knows is going to happen, and he may already know it has. If it bothers you to have not told him, just sit down with him and let him know you are uncomfortable speaking with him about it, but you wanted to let him know that you have gotten it and spoken with your mother about it, I'm sure he would respect that and not bring it up.

I know it can be an embarrasing thing to let your dad know. Actually, it can help. Since "each month", around the same time, your moods may be off. It would help him to know that your bad moods are related to something. That way he's not clueless.
Well, actually, MOST guys are clueless about the "girl thing", but it actually helps us guys to know when we should be more sensitive.

If you are not comfortable telling him, then have your mom. It is nothing to be embarassed/ashamed about. It happens to all females, it's a fact of life. And chances are your mom has already told him and he knows

what the heck is your problem? why can't you tell your dad? is he a bad father? You don't think he would understand... after being around your mom for several years?
I have 3 little girls and I understand "girl issues" and I care about my little girls just as much as their mom does, so I don't see what would be the point of them hiding stuff from me. It's not like they did anything bad.... it's normal kid, and most daddies understand their daughters and care about their kids.
I'm not saying you HAVE to tell him, but why hide it?

he doesn't need to know...he's a guy, it's not like he can do anything to help you...at least your mom can run out and buy tampons for you! besides, eventually he'll figure it out even if you don't tell him. i mean, by the time you're about 16 he's got to have figured it out that you've started your period already!
