They would be known as an 80's NWOBHM band and would be as commonly known as Samson, Tokyo Blade and Angel Witch. Paul Di'Anno just didn't have the vocals to let Iron Maiden soar to new heights and evolve and carry on past their starting point. I think the first two albums were great, and Di'Anno's vocals were fitting for that point in Maiden's career, but Paul didn't have nowhere near the range or operatic quality, and you need range in vocals to have range in music (Just compare Pantera's CFH to later albums as an example) Two totally different vocals that were the right singers for their eras, but with Bruce the band evolved musically, more vivid themes were introduced, The Number of the Beast had a shocking theme that got the band a lot of attention and was a vital point to their success, but the music also took on an epic and dramatic quality and a complexity that just couldn't have been achieved before, and after everyone was paying attention this is what kept the ball rolling. MQ2- I gotta go with The Classic Era, My top three are Seventh Son, Powerslave and Piece of Mind, but I believe The Modern Era would come before The Early Era and Blaze. MQ3- I think what puts off a lot of fans is that it was just a strange point in Maiden's career and It was a time when Iron Maiden wasn't as relevant. I think this, along with Blaze adding to all the strangeness, makes it seem like Maiden's direst point. The music is kinda weak, but not as quite as weak as No Prayer and Fear of the Dark. MQ4- Idk, I think the album is the weakest Iron Maiden album, the only track that really stood out to me was the title track.

It used to mean they were seers. Seers were folk who could see into the future and speak to the dead. Thats what it means here anyway but I could be a bit behind the times.
