For clothes, get a circle skirt and a sweater set. You can take black shoe polish and turn white shoes into saddle shoes plus bobby socks. You can always put a felt poodle on your skirt if you are artistic.
Music: anything 50's. The American Graffiti soundtrack is a good place to start. Great music on there.

Watch the movies Grease and Grease2 and watch Happy Days to get some ideas. Food/Drinks: Coke or Rootbeer Floats, Banana splits, etc. Decorations: go to thrift stores to buy old LPs(vinyl records) and use curling ribbons to hang them around or stick them on the walls to use as decorations. You could also search the web for "sock hop party themes" or go to a library and look up books for party theme ideas.

poodle skirts and a white blouse with bobby socks and saddle shoes. hair in a pony tail for the guys a D.A. haircut or a Detroit ( a flat top with fenders ) a tee shirt with a cigarette pack rolled up in the sleeve, jeans with cuffs a black leather jacket with " colors " or a denim jacket with " colors " grease and Grease 2 were good along with American Graffiti. do the hand jive, the stroll, bunny hop, and the twist ( which was a little later in time but could still work ) have a good time and don't forget the bubblegum on your nose.

A purple cardigan sweater, a black skirt, slightly on the huge component in case you will discover one (no longer too geared up I recommend), white ankle socks, and the two loafers or white ked footwear. and probably a fabric hair band. lovable theory!

how bout you have a real party with some alcohol beverages and dirty dancing. that will be more fun and thats what normal 16 year olds do.
