Yes Release Canidate 2 has most major fixes applied.

Final version is out already (and available for Microsoft VIP users).
My personal comparison is that not much changed in the compatibility front between RC1, RC2 and RTM.
All in all though, it is a much needed Windows upgrade and I will just have to deal with the compatibility pains :-(
