I would recomend getting a teacher instead of teaching yourself, because I taught myself and there are some things that I did not realize when I taught myself. it's better to have a teacher, someone who is expeirenced, because they can help you with fingering and counting of beats in tough songs, also they can help you with the general theory of playing the music.

start off with teh beginners books. the children ones work the best i think. they give the basics to you in an easy to understand language. just go down to your local music store and pick up a book. once you memorize which keys are what then the hard part is over.

I've seen keyboards that have keys that light up, they come with booklets to help teach you as well. I think this is a great way for someone to learn how to play!
