Why does Shinedown say they're not a christian band when they obviously are?

they're obviously a christian band even though he says its not but i think hes just saying that cause he knows some people like me wouldnt buy there album if he says that they were and i'm an atheist so i think he should just admit it that its a christian band and we could all tell it is from the songs and from the name shinedown i mean come now shinedown thats something a christian would say i'm gonna shine down or whatever garbage they wanna say and that song save me from my blasphemy, oh please, and he says its not a christian band this guys ridiculous

buddists share lots of christian beliefs and are athiests -- there is no buddha god. it is possible to hold christian morals and be athiest. in fact most athiests are more moral because they accept responsibility for themselves instead of being able to be absolved of everything by praying for god's mercy. things like don't kill, don't steal, dont cheat, don't lie, don't bag your neighbors wife, do unto others -- all that stuff is kind of universal.

christians are weird and you can't scientifically theorize about them or logically explain them -- case and point that haggard guy that extorts money from grandmothers and uses it to buy methamphetamines and prostitutes.

and so that just in case they happen to get inspired to sing a circular (non- christian song), you won't hold them up to the fact that they said they are a christian band.

Yes, you have pretty much answered your own question. He is interested in record sales, and he knows that admitting that his band is christian, he would have almost zero sales. He's in it for the money.
