check the input jack on the guitar....sometimes the the eternal metal will get bent and not make contact with your cable plug......but definitly check your wires in the guitar......peace

From previous bad experiences I have learnt that when getting anything repaired in a guitar shop (unless you know the people well) to demand to test the equipment there and then before handing over any cash.

if you took it to a good shop...maybe it's you patch cord or maybe it;s the amp. You can improve alot with a little contact cleaner and tighten up some knobs. If it's an older Gibson, the wiring might need to be replaced...good luck!

mmm, have you looked to see if any wires have come out the pick up? if not take it to another guitar shop. good luck, its a pain when you pride and joy packs up.
