A good amplifer, 5 disk CD player, speakers of good quality, many CDs depending on the type of music you want to play and also much variety will give you a better opportunity to play music at different events. You have to sell yourself or talk with people to get started. You could advertise and place messages on bullentin boards. A good personality helps and popular types of line dance songs, and party Cds is a must. If you have the money to pay for an internet service to download songs from the internet you could do that too. Good luck. P.S. I dj and have over 300 cds and use bulky old equipment. It has worked for me, but getting tired of lugging all the equipment around.
