There are a lot of games they play at school that have just as much potential to be dangerous. Dogdeball is not the safest game to play, but neither is football, soccer, tennis, basketball or any other sport involving throwing, kicking or hitting balls. Injuries are also common in cheerleading, dance squad, track and other things not involving the use of a ball. Kids have also been seriously injured on swings, merry-go-rounds, slides, monkey bars, climbing walls, etc.

Safety aside... kids are kids. I don't think any of these things should be banned. Kids are GOING to get hurt... they're kids! If they don't get hit in the face with a ball, they're still gonna break their nose falling out of a tree in their backyard.

HOWEVER... I also don't think kids should be FORCED (by the school) to participate if they don't want to. Some kids are NOT physically inclined. Others are TERRIFIED of getting hurt by a ball (etc). Kids should have to do SOME sort of PE, but they should get to choose if they want to participate in a group sport or go do laps or something.

Dodgeball is a game that is played in every school(almost) if it is played right there should be no problem. Those who cause problems should face consequences. Dodgeball should stay!
