Could it be that this isn't as a product as I think? Would external or internal drive be best?

I am not fond of Lightscribe as many users have stated, a bit expensive on the drive and also the media is quite expensive.

I have a regular burner (cheap) and I have a printer that allows you to feed inkjet printable DVD's to print any picture on the DVD. It looks very good.

Epson and HP. All you have to do is make sure you get the inkjet printable media. They are very cheap on the web and good quality also. Stick with Ritek for the single layers.

You can also download covers so you don't have to scan them yourself.

They really look great and I create cover art for a lot of my home movies and people think I got those printed by some expensive production house.

I just got a new HP PC that has light scribe it's pretty cool and looks a lot neater than writing on the CD/DVD with a sharpie. I suppose it depends on how much you would use it if it would be worth it for you. If it hadn't already been part of the PC I probably wouldn't go out & buy it. Good luck & if you get it enjoy :o)

I have lightscribe on a couple dvd drives. Its awesome, because it writes directly onto the cd/dvd.

apparently the drives are reasonable price now but the media is expensive as they are not normal disks so i heard.. don't know much about them really, i have no use for them.
