You can bring the baby's daddy to your appointments. He will want to get all the information you do, see the ultra sound and hear the heartbeat, so if he is able to go, bring him along!

Seeing other doctors within the same practice is a good idea. It gives you an opportunity to meet all of them and that way you won't have someone you do not know at delivery time in case your doctor is not available.

As far as prenatal vitamins, you don't have to take them. However, they are a supplement to your diet which will benefit you and your baby. If swallowing them is a problem, ask your doctor and he or she might recommend taking a children's chewable vitamin two or three times a day. My prenatal vitamins made me ill the first trimester, so I took Flintstones.

I took the Walgreen's brand prenatal vitamins. They are small. I tried taking the big ones too and they made me gag so I switched to walgreens brand and I liked those better. The baby gets the nutrients from your body if you don't take the prenatal vitamins. You take those so that you know for sure your body has all the necessary vitamins for the baby to thrive. You can see another doctor in the same building, you can see another doctor in a different building. It doesn't matter what doctor you see since its your first visit. But whoever you see your first visit is the one you will see the rest of the time. You can bring your baby's daddy. Mine always came with me!

My husband went to almost every prenatal visit with me on my first pregnancy. They love seeing the daddies in the rooms.

Try taking the flinstone vitamins with iron. Take one in the morning and one in the evening and make sure you drink at least 1 8oz glass of orange juice a day.

Folic acid helps prevent birthdefects that can effect the child for a lifetime. The childrens chewables will have the folate you need. You'll probably need the iron added.

After the first trimester the vitamins are mainly for you because the baby takes all good things from you.

You can have any dr you want. Just stick with one during the entire pregnancy because dr's watch for your mood changes and stuff as well as other things that can't be well documented. If he knows you well he can also watch for post pardom depression after you deliver.

Yes they sell chewable prenatals (Precare, Natachew, duet stuartnatal chewables). Personally, I just take 1 flintstones complete chewables every night. For extra folic acid, I drink a good amount of orange juice. For extra calcium, I drink a lot of milk (the orange juice has added calcium also). I eat cereal everyday to get a boost on other vitamins and minerals.

Your baby's daddy should be allowed at every visit as long as it's what you want.

It's ok to see different doctors in the same practice.

Hope that helps.

Nothing will happen if you don't take the vitamins. The baby takes everything it needs from you. You'll just be the one draggin ***... I was told that flintstone vitamins work as well. I would get the multivitamin flinstones and take 2 instead of 1. I said the same thing about the prenatals. I never took one or even tried to take one. Good Luck!

Honestly, nothing. I have three children. My oldest was 10 lbs 3 oz at birth and my younger two were both 8 lbs. All of my children were born healthy despite the fact that I never took the prenatal vitamins or the iron supplements.

Be sure to eat healthy balanced meals though with plenty of fruits and vegetables. Cut back on the sodas and caffeine and junk food and you and baby will be fine.

Good luck with your pregnancy.

They do have chewable prenatal vitamins...but they're only by prescription...I've heard about people taking 2 children's Flintstone vitamins...but I asked the pharmacist about it and he pointed out some interesting facts...certain ingredients that would be missing and such...so, I got the prescription from the doctor...

i have 4 kids. i took them religiously with my first (big giant horse pills) and she weighed 9 lbs 3 oz. the second kid..i took them some of the time...the chewables..they were still big, but they tasted like flintstones vitamins..she weighed 8 lbs 3 oz. then the next two kids I didn't take them with and they weighed quite a bit less and just didn't seem as healthy...maybe there's nothing to it, but maybe there is. I was also a lot healthier with the first two....you can bring your baby's daddy, but you'll probably just hear the heart beat...you'll really want to bring him for the ultrasound at about 4 months along :) good luck!

yeps, daddy can go to all dr appts...re: the prenatal vitamins, the baby basically takes all your nutrients and kinda leaves you high and dry. maybe there's a liquid form - never had the prob when I was pregnant. it's better if you can take the vitamins somehow...but not life threatening or anything if u don't.

I have not heard of any prenatal chewies...but I would not be surprised if there were some out there!!! I hate taking them too...one of mine is really big and skinks and tastes so bad...I have thrown it up several times trying to get it down. I have found that milk helps me. So...when I take it I eat a cookie and drink my milk...it helps it go down.

I dont know darling...I mean there are alot of things in pregnancy that you to do that you either hate or it is hard to do...but you do it for the sake of that child. You may need to learn how to take big pills...or cut them in half before you take them. The vitamins are good for you and help with deformities with your baby. Try try try to take them even if you have to try several times like me to get it down.
