C Section is painful, requires greater recuperation time, you also get a scar from it.
You should try your hardest to have a Vag Delivery.

It doesn't matter how old you are, the doctors will not (or should not if they are being responsible) offer you a C-section unless there is something wrong with either you or the baby that makes it unsafe to deliver vaginally. That has nothing to do with age.

I'm having my first at nearly 35 and I'm going for a normal delivery - everything is fine and they would only recommend a c-section if something went wrong.

My mum had two kids (vaginally) at 36 and 42 and my grandmother had three (vaginal) births at 36, 38 and 40 (in those days there was no alternative really!).

Everyone is different. Age isn't a factor in determining whether you will be able to have your baby "naturally" or not - its more to do with your physiology, how big the baby is, what position he/she is in, whether baby baby goes into distress or there are problems in labour etc etc.

C section is major abdominal operation and can take a lot longer to recover from than a natural vaginal birth - not really what you want when you have a new baby to look after. It is a procedure that should only be carried out when there are problems and it is not possible to safely deliver the "natural" way. C sections can carry far more risks than a vaginal delivery.

It amazes me the way people talk about "vaginal delivery" as if its something unusual and rare! Thats how babies are MEANT to be born! C sections are for problems only!

Yes its the best even at 35 as long as your doctor thinks everything is going well and both you and the baby are healthy. I cant understand why any woman would want a C section. They are painful and you have to have a longer time of recuperation and on top of that you have to take care of a newborn. Very difficult. I have had 3 natural births and I have another due in March and right after the births, I had an easy time, and was never in any pain afterwards.

Just because you are 35 doesn't mean you should have a c-section. There are many factors that can contribute to that. For example, baby's size, position, the way your pelvis shaped etc. I have known many pregnant women who were between 35-40 who had a vaginal birth. Remember that's what our body's are for. I have also know many women of all ages that have had c-sections for various reasons myself included and I am 27. But assuming that everything else looks the way it's suppose there is no reason you can't have a natural birth. Good luck and congrats!!!

I can tell you from personal experience, vaginal births are better.

I had a c/section with my first and it was horrible. Some women can recover quickly and go shopping within days, but most don't. (And why do you want to be out shopping days after having a baby ANYWAY????)

I later had a VBAC (Vaginal Biirth After Cesarean) and it was an amazing experience. They brought me pain pills afterwards, and I asked them what were they for! I was in ZERO pain compared to the hours and days and weeks after my c/s. Even now, 11 years later, my scar tissue still pulls painfully sometimes.

Do not have a c/section just to avoid labor. It is major surgery and there are more risks for you and the baby having a c/section that isn't medically warranted. I'm now 37 weeks pregnant and hoping for another VBAC.

Bottom line is that vaginal births are safer for you and your baby. C-section babies are at higher risk for lung problems, because the amniotic fluid isn't squeezed out. You are at higher risk for infection (I had secondary infertility as a result of my infection, I had to have surgery again to get pregnant this time!) Go for the real deal hon!

Why would it not be good for you. Labour is good for the baby. I delivered my son at 35 as well. he was my first baby. I had to be induced at 39 weeks...labour was about 6 hours, and I pushed him out in 33 min. You really can't make a decision on vaginal or c-section...its whatever is best and is decided by the DR

My wife has had 4 children - 4 vaginal births, the last one when she was in her mid thirties. Keep fit and if possible try to stay mobile until at least active labour has started - this often helps shorten labour and make it more bearable.

At 35 you should not have any difficulties delivering a baby naturally as long as you are in good shape. I would suggest staying active as long as possible it will make your delivery easier.

Can you ask natural birth instead ??! it's sounded better. It's never too late to have normal birth. Friend of mine had a Cesarean twice after one normal birth (natural one) and in her opinion natural IS better, no matter age. The only one thing: if your little one is brich then you don't have much of the choice ( it's how baby lying inside you)

Yes, unless there is some complication, you should try for a vaginal birth. This is safer and healthier for you and baby. C/S is major surgery and brings additional risks.
