Developmental psychology is pretty fun. Most classes will focus primarily on the childhood. You will learn Erikson's theorys, some Freudian stages, and physical development. You will learn a lot about attachment in newborns through adolesence. You will go through various stages of development and how a person "normally" develops and how things may make development "abnormal". You will learn some about various mental disorders associated with childhood such as ADHD and ODD. But you will also learn about disorders caused by developmental issues such as reactive attachment disorders and developmental delays. You will learn some about early and middle adulthood but it is my experience that these subjects are not as studied. Maybe because so many other psychology classes focus on that age group. Then you will learn about old age, dementia, and death and dying . It will be a great facinating class if you have a good professor. Have fun!
