Yes, the United States of America and her allies must all pitch in and help rebuild Iraq. When Saddam Hussein first came into power, he was Mr. Nice Guy but once the 1980's came around, he went from being Mr. Nice Guy to becoming Mr. Not So Nice Guy and started to build palaces for himself and had his people live in ruins. Not that Hussein is no longer the President, Iraq is moving everyday towards democracy. If you want to hear the Truh of the Democracy taken shape in Iraq, I recommend that you watch a show titled The 700 Club.

Ya know at the beginning of the war I was all for rebuilding a country we were ripping apart, but now that all this time has gone by and all the insurgents want to do is blow **** up I'd have to say NO! Why should we Americans keep putting money into a country that can't even trust it's own police and army? The insurgents infiltrate organizations, and then turn around and start killing people and ruining infastructure that we are trying to repair. Let them repair it all themselves!

Iraqis should rebuild Iraq. A majority of the workers hired by the private contractors are not Iraqis.Unemployment is 50% or more. Like somebody mentioned, do a Marshell Plan. If people are working to improve their lifes they won't be blowing things up.

What does it mean to REBUILD Iraq? Does that mean setting them up with a government like ours, officials and politicians who think like us. For the longest we have been trying to impose our views and laws on other countries. Who are we to go in a country and tell them how to live? If there was a more powerful country than ours would we like it if a country came, tore up our country and then HELPED us by rebuilding it in their image. We have our own problems I would like to see fixed here first.

It would be one thing if people where rebuilding Iraq and people were not getting killed for it. Look at those contractor's that are doing a nice duty, and are getting killed, they didn't ask for that. We are putting to many lives at risk rebuilding something we destroyed, and that people aren't appreciating that we are doing it for them, to make their city a better place.

Of course, we are a democratic nation with a capitalist, free market economy. A stable, free Iraq provides jobs, and markets in an unstable region. Thus, it would help promote the economic principles that are at the heart of all free and responsible governments. People vote with their feet (leaving bad places) and pocketbooks.

That is the focus. We are currently building schools, hospitals, water and electric facilities. But we never hear about the positives in Iraq, just the negatives.
