it's a great idea - they do it in Sweden already. However, it's not always the kids that control the purse strings - certain parents in this world need to learn a few lessons too....

Mcdonalds and sweet adverts are scarce these days because they are trying to stop children eating too much of the wrong food. The case of the young boy in the North East as seen on the news is a prime reason. It is the parents that need educating. If an adult is overweight it is their own doing as they choose what to eat but a parent should ensure their kids eat a balanced diet. Mine are allowed the occaisional lunch from Mac's but always go for the fillet of fish or the chicken nuggets. Perhaps you could use the govrnments new advertising policy to answer your survey.

Why would you do such a thing? If you have an item that you are selling you will market it to whoever is in your demographic. Why is there a problem advertisiments aimed at children? Children have emotions just like adults, we are sucked into advertisements that meet our needs, you don't think kids have needs, wants, or desires? Should we tell them what they want to be when they grow up too? Maybe eliminte the tv, and the movies, take away candy, computers, let's shelter our kids from the world..>THAT IS A GREAT IDEA! Come on! Really?

yeah all those ads for kids toys drive me nuts. they drove me nuts when I was a kid too, so I seriously don't see the point of them. and some kids are so gullible they'll want something and if they get it they'll never play with it, so it's just a waste of their parents money. a very nasty marketing scheme altogether.
and on that link, the ones for junk food, it's appauling. governments are trying to lower the obesity rates, but these ads are just counteracting it and half the countrie's kids are going to die of heart attacks when they're 30 if it continues in this direction.

i dont think that banning adverts will make any difference

its the stupid parents that buy loads of toys and burgers for there kids that is the problem! - also they are a bad influence on the kids for not getting any exercise

everyone could eat lots of fatty food if only they did a decent amount of exercise!

Yup...only last night, my little girl came to me and asked if we could go to Mc Donalds today.

And every time a toy advert comes on I get 'Mum will you get me that'
Ummmmmm, no, coz I have no money...

When Kids are young they don't understand the value of money, and the last thing I want to do is give my girl a complex because I can't financially keep up....
Bloody, happy smiling kids with everything they want, get rid of them!!!!!!

too little too late. i think the parents have a bigger role to play in educating their children about healthy eating.
there are loads of adverts for things that arent needed but that doesnt mean you have to buy them

Hey,

It is welcoming news, the body and minds of our children should be impacted with good food and positive edification.

fast food, means fast life leading to premature death. We are what we eat and all that.

God bless the decision.
