I give my daughters buckets to carry around or have next to where ever they are laying. It's kinda late for that advice but maybe next time. To clean your sofa do you have the zip off cushion covers? If so you should soak those in a bucket of mild detergent or if you have a front load washer put them in on the hand wash cycle and let air dry. The enzymatic stain and soil removers should help with lingering smells too - Natures Miracle sold at most pet stores seems to be recommended by a lot of people though I haven't used it.

Scrub scrub scrub. Dilute laundry soap (non bleach) in cool water and scrub with a terry cloth rag. Nothing but elbow grease will work. Then, scrub some more with a towel in plain water to rinse. Finish by blotting with a dry towel and leave that over the spot to prevent people from sitting there. It might have to be repeated once in a while because it goes into the foam.

I swear by this stuff called simple solution---you buy it at the pet store, I get it by the gallon (I have dogs that sometimes dont make it outside in time)...it gets rid of just about any nasty smell, odor, etc.
I think the website is www.simplesolution.com

Firstly scrub with bicarb, rinse and then scrub with vinegar. Works like a charm. Good luck, what a horrible job!

Vacuum it. Wash it again. Spray it with something like Febreeze. It will eventually go away, but might take a couple of days. I had the same problem in my son's bedroom carpet.
