1--what should be the appropriate age of a child to start playing tennis?
2--what kind of initial coaching should be good for them?
3--what type of exercise my kids should do and how long should they run or jog?
4--should they learn all kinds of shots at this age only or they should gradually learn different kind of strokes?
5--any special diet?
6--v important----how long should they practice everyday?
7--what should i do to keep them motivated all the time?

this probably isnt good for your girls. they are getting too serious too fast. BURN OUT. do not get them super serious on tennis at least untill 10. they should learn topsin first. at age 10 if there still serious get privates to learn every shot. if you have he money get a private coach. at age 14 they should start working out. untill then 5 year old should run a quater mile a week and 8 year old a half mile. once 10 mabey make them run a mile. gradually they should learn diffrent strokes. dont diet them please dont. WHATEVER YOU DO DO NOT LET THEM GET FAT OR TO SKINY. they are too young to practice everyday.they at tops should play 3 times a week at there ages and that is alot. mabey at 12 they could play 5 times a week. to keep them motivated = order tennis magazines, get them friends that play tennis, do not push them. good luck.

Any start age is good. First, tennis lessons or classes must be FUN! Secondly, a good tennis pro should help with proper grips & strokes. Don't compromise on an inexpensive, unqualified teacher. Many Europe training schools use their best instructors for the youngest groups because this is their foundation. Third, do not force anything upon the children. Let the children advance at their own pace so that they don't get bored or burned out. To motivate young players we like to take them to see professional or college tennis matches for inspiration. Buy the book by Wayne Bryan, "The Formula".

its cool to know they love tennis so much cos when my parents got me into tennis at 10 i hated it and was forced into it.then at about 14 yrs i started tennis again and now i love tennis completely especially watching tennis.
1-there is no exact age for starting tennis.henman started as soon as he could walk, nadal when he was4 and federer at 8.
2-at this stage i think group coaching would be better
3-i think they are too young for proper exercise but maybe they could do some basic ones forpreventing muscle strainand stuff.
4-they could learn the basic strokes though the eight year old could learn more
5-no
6-not too long let it be relaxed right now cos when there is too much of something u start detesting it.so probably they could play for 1 hour five days a week.
7-they will remain motivated as long as the game interests them.encourage them to watch matches on tv,cos i feel thats the best way to learn.
most importantly dont overdo it cos burnout is a serious problem
when they become great players u must definitely mention that u posted this question then we would know who this is.
good luck!

1. There is no age limit for starting tennis, it's never to late, it's never to early. A kid in my tennis class is 9 years of age and she is the defending champion for three years at the Evergreen Summer tournament (10 and under.)
2. The best way to become better in taking private lesson or joining a club, I read in my local Enterprise Newpaper that if you take lessons this way then you will be in varsity by high school 100%. I have also experienced this as I have been taking lessons at a club for 3 years and am a freshmen in HS but am on the Varsity team.
3. Before you even think of hitting a ball you should always do Dynamic warm ups to avoid injures and to get your blood going. An example of what you can do is to jogging around half of the tennis court two to four times each time gaining speed. Warming to many people is boring but it is a key to staying healty. After playing you should also do Static streching like touching your toes.
4. Since your kids are have just begun there tennis careers they should forcus on just getting the ball in about three to four feet over the net CONSISTANTLY using proper skrokes that the their coach gives them, power will come so don't worry just focus on control and go from there. Don't try to do to many special things like spins just get the basics down. Once they have mastered control you can move to alittle more power and spin and so on.
5. I don't think you will need a special diet just for tennis but on the court you should have water. Drink it throughout pratice even if you arn't very thirsty, always avoid dehydration, which can really affect your game! Stay away for pop, water is the best energy drink. Hope your kids like banannas because they can improve your game, easy to digest and give you energy right away, sorry no candy bars.
6. Hmmm... they should practice about an hour a day, but there isn't really a set time but if your having fun playing why stop!
7. You should have them join a jr. tennis team over the summer where they can play with kids of their age and skill level. At camps they will improve there game and also play games and have fun!!! Also don't get on them for making mistakes, this will just make them lose their morale and make their game even worse, keep them thinking positive thoughts.
I would love to see your kids playing as a pro all because of ME lol, hopes this helps!
