Many things can cause headaches, but if you don't have one when you go to bed, yet have one when you get up perhaps something around your bed is causing the problem. So thoroughly clean, dust, vacuum, pick up, and basically remove all dust from around your bed. Also, make sure your air filters are clean so when the heater/air kicks on you are breathing clean filtered air not the opposite. Other possibilities are allergies, or sinus infection, or grinding teeth in sleep. Hope you figure it out and soon. Good luck.

I think as long as your headache goes away soon after waiting up, it must be related to the way you sleep. Otherwise, for instance I rarely get headaches and then several days ago woke up with one that wouldn't go away. I tried extra strength tylenol, sudafed (thinking it was sinus related) and finally 2 days later went to the doctor bec sharp pain on back of head was/is still there. The doctor thoroughly examined me and prescribed 3 medications: one for tension headaches and 2 others were pain killers. I'm also waiting to take a CAT scan once health insurance company gives okay but in the meantime the medications taken every 6 hours help make the pain go away but I can also tell when they start losing their effectiveness and FYI after you take them with food, it takes 30-45 minutes before you see/feel the difference. Best advice if you can't see a doctor is to go the the local drugstore and look for headache OTC medicines which I noticed fall into generic, migraine and tension <= little difficult to find. Hope the Above Info Helps!

That happens with me......especially when it is a change in weather and allergy season. Try taking some allergy pills OTC to help re leave some of the pressure. I would talk to you doctor too. Your eyes could of changed a little too. Where you might need some type of corrective lenses, or stronger ones if you have them already. Just a few ideas and suggestions. Hope you feel better soon.

Try something else for your headache like maybe excedrin tension . I was waking up everyday with one and that is what worked for me.

Could it be an allergy? If you have animals or something like dust in your room, it may be enough that in the 8 or so hours that you are in the room to sleep it is enough to create a reaction to the allergen. Try deep cleaning your room... and crazy as it may sound, you may want to wash all your sheets in another detergent. You could even be reacting to that with enough contact overnight.... Good luck!!

other medications can cause a hangover type feeling if you do not get enough sleep. the food you eat can cause head aches. alot of the chemicals we put into our bodies today can cause serious side effects. you could have an allergies to something in your house. a recent change in detergent, new soaps, new sheets? you could have mold growing in your pillow.. truly it could be anything....good luck.

They could be caused by hormone imbalances, misalignment of vertebrae, or tense neck muscles.
Definitely start with the doctor and go from there.

There are sooo many things that could cause this! Make sure you are drinking plenty of water. Lay off the sugar and caffeine. And get to the doctor.
