In my country, only beggars walk barefoot, so it is often associated with being a beggar.

Because i am not saying this to be mean or anything but would u like to be stuck in a place with a ton of people and someone is wearing sandals and their feet stink. I think that also if u do not have nice looking feet u should not wear shoes that show a lot of ur feet.If u do not like what i said then u should not really ask that question and i am a nice girl and i do not want to sound mean. There is absolutely nothing wrong with going barefoot. As a matter of fact, it is good for you. Keeping you feet in shoes promotes the growth of fungus. Also it is a myth that it is against health department regulations. There are no known laws against it. It's just stupid people who are against it! I go barefoot all the time.

It's unsanitary for yourself and possible other people! It's ghetto and trashy. A definate sign of no class. Definately innapropriate to look unpresentable. Would you like a fat hairy man not to wear his shirt to the same grocery store you're at, then lean over the lettuce you're about to buy? Or see some nasty toe fungus from Mr. I Can't Wash My *** Correctly? Or maybe you'd like to pick up some strange bacteria and become sick... or contract worms... that sounds pleasant, right?!

For me personally, it's a health issue. If ever body walked around in their bare feet, then every fungus, infection, etc... would just get passed around constantly. No one would ever have clean, healthy feet.
No offense to any one, but how am I to know if a person has athlete's foot, but I do know I don't want to even chance picking it up from them.

Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and say I look down on people that walk around barefoot. It's complelely unsanitory and unsafe. You can't even go into stores without your shoes on (no shoes, no shirt, no service!).

lol i dont know but i love being barefoot i rarely wear shoes.. not a big fan!! more power to ya buddy.. who cares what other people think.. just be careful what you step on, such as sharp objects, and diseases that could be on the ground lol goodluck<33

i think it is sick because ther eare so many things out there to catch and your feet usually always has open sores on the bottom and all i dont look down on it but it is not healthy and people that do that have a 75%chance of getting sick more becasue of so many fungus out ther and germs

Your feet get filthy. Like someone said it's against health and safety rules and you can pick up nasty foot infections from doing it.
