A person's husband passed away suddenly after going back to work to support his family and because this person had applied for social security-disability due to a car accident. Because of his sudden death, this person had to hurrily pay out of pocket funeral expenses of $3000.00 and could not pay rent. She learned that she could apply for a VA widow's pension but it takes 3-6 months. She called her sister for help. Her sister is an elder at church and she told this person that she should go to a homeless shelter and let them help her even though besides church-going, she has a big, beautiful home. This person could not pay for storage and lost all her furniture, etc including some of her late husband's things and is now in a homeless shelter. Before this all happened, this person was hit by a van crossing the street and suffers from numerous injuries including severe depression which her sister knows but told her to go to a shelter.

yes,if she was a child with out a thought!! if it is an adult and able to work I would give a time limit of how long he/she can stay in my home and give them a reasonable time to save for a place of there own,as long as they don't have any additional problems(drugs, aclcoholetc,)do what you feel in your heart, good luck!!!

First ask yourself the question...would they do the same for you. I know it sounds selfish, but I've done it myself. I treated this person like family even though they weren't. Then when I was faced with the same thing and no where to go, they let me stay with them and before I knew it, it seemed to get on their nerves that I was there. They tried to push me out the door before I could afford to, then I ended up having to move back three states from there to live with family, which hasn't been much better. I didn't treat them like that. This person racked up a phone bill, ate my food and even though they worked, they didn't pay the bill. I had my child to take care of financially and I think they took advantage of me and didn't return the favor. I am one who is always willing to give even though I don't have much myself. I think it depends on how much you are willing to sacrifice and how they will react to your kindness.

It would depend on so many factors, more than likely, no, just for the fact that in those situations, the homeless person takes advantage of the "host" and things get worse between them and never get better. But I would help out in other ways.

It depends on the situation. Your family situation and the person you are thinking of taking in. Both sides have to be reaaaally clear on who is responsible for what and how long this is expected to last. Good Luck.

It all depends on her circumstances. If she was using or dealing drugs, NO WAY, not with children in home ( if you have them).
I would assist in getting her rehab, but not allow her in home. Now, if she is clean, then heck yes, I would assist her immediately. Then I would find her a nice man to get hitched with. Well, in today's world, she may want a woman, lol. Anyway, I hope this helps. Feel free to e-mail me if you like.

If loved one you referring to a family member, then i dont see why you would continue to say that you are a christian w/ morals. Of course you'll help them out ! They would if you were exactly where they are now.
