Im trying to understand why people every year will go into frenzy to get the latest and greatest toy or game system for which the manufacturer always convienently is short on stock. Then they raise the price to a rediculous amt. yet people every year get trampled get into fights and just a day or so ago got shot while standing in line waiting for days to buy something their kid will have no interest in 3 months down the road.

In the capitalistic market, having -new- things is what is more important. It is to show that they have money enough to afford the cool toy for their child, along with how selfish children have become selfish.

Its because there is a limit amount of them. ie. Tickle Me Elmos,Furbies(when it first came out).

Plus all the advertisment. they make them look soo good that this is the must have.

now look furbies are just sitting there...why? because kids got sick of them and they arn't "cool" anymore.

I think the only thing i ever got in one of those crazes was a cabage patch kid when i was really little.
