Dumb and Dumber. I loved the first movie but the second one sucked. I couldn't believe they had the nerve to get look alike people and make it so that the movie was based on HOW they met since they couldn't get Jim Carey and the other guy (whats his name again?).
Tell me WHY they mad sequels to "I know what you did last summer" and "Scream"?
I also hate legally blonde.

most of you miss the point of the question... it was not about bad sequels, it was about bad movies that never deserved a sequel in the first place...
'star trek: the motion picture' (although all the sequels have been better than the original, after that pile of dung you'd think they would have stopped)
'bring it on'
'i know what you did last summer'
'poison ivy'
'bill & ted's excellent adventure'
'speed' (not that the movie was so awful, but that they actually thought it was sequel worthy)
'pitch black' (same explanation as 'speed')
'dirty dancing' ( " " " " )
'roadhouse' ( " " " " )
'house' ( " " " " )
'home alone ( " " " " )
i could go on for days...

Highlander. Pointless, illogical sequel, even more pointless follow-ups.
If there can be only 1, and he was it at the end, why the need for more movies? Makes about as much sense as Jamie Oliver being famous.

Not that I can think of right now, but a great movie that should never had a sequel was "Highlander".

Cheaper By The Dozen....Steve Martin & Bonnie Hunt. Good idea, but, poorly...really poorly done ! However, I must say that they did a little better job with 2.

Saw, and Speed 2 was a really bad idea considering Keanu wouldn't even do it

Too many to list for this space, but:
X-Men
Star Wars prequels
Alien vs. Predator (I heard they're gonna make a sequel)
Batman (the one with Michael Keaton -- YUCK! I hated Keaton. He was so horribly miscast for that role.)
... and too many others to list.
