I am 48 and female, my daughter is 17 soon, we both watch most music channels, though I don't dress like her, or can be described as mutton dressed up as lamb, I do like fashionable clothes. I have always preferred the company of younger people, I know what my 10 year old is into ps games, tv etc. I find people my age dull. Is there something wrong with me, I do not act like a child.

I'm 38 and You will regularly find me and my 12 year old son talking about the latest album from the Killers, Gorillas, Baby Shambles, Incubus Etc or watching MTV, MTV2 and MTV Base with my 9 year old Daughter. (I do listen to Wogan on Radio 2 though!)
You will also find me driving down the road listening to Marilyn Manson and similar.
Most of my friends are years younger than me and non of them have children even close to the age of my two.
Most people I work with are under 25 and they like the same music as me!
There is nothing wrong with feeling younger than you are, as long as you don't try to be younger than you are.
Its funny when I start telling workmates about buying a CD Player when they first came out, when my parents bought a VCR, but you couldn't hire a film as Blockbuster had not been invented! and the Super VHS system that we got had double sided tapes for 8 hours recording and Mono sound!
If you want to meet like minded people, then look in the local paper. They have adverts for local pubs with live music etc. You will find lots of a students, but also lots people of a similar age to you all "Networking" with each other. Above all, be yourself and don't try to be anything else.
Also have a look online. Both of the towns near us have "Whats On" websites.
Just a quick extra thought. Most of my older and younger friends are still mountain bikers and surfer dudes! They live the life and have the look and have no problem with that. One friend was a famous "World Champion" Po-Surfer in the 90's and now markets his own "surf-lifestyle" clothing brand. He's in his 40's and still thinks young.

I think your great and I agree - I'm 40 and find many people my age a bit boring. I'm young minded and have two young children. We all listen to rock music and have a great laugh. My parents are 60 and have never grown up and I hope they never will.
Just be yourself - thats all that matters - the rest comes naturally.
I do like Radio 2 though.

Not at all!! It's better to keep your youth as long as you don't make a fool of yourself or embarrassed your daughter or your 10 years old child. Keep it up, life is too short to be a boring old fool!!
