All things have consequences!
The good times aren't necessarily followed by the bad, but if you experience only good than it will be easier to feel depressed and bored because you're used to better!
The best we can do is plan our lives so that we are ready for the good times and can tolerate the bad'!
For the most part our lives are "not supposed" to be easy or unchallenging, but the opposite.
Accept life for it's challenges and low spots, punctuate the hard times with the pleasant things in life and you will always be able appreciate life when it does get easier instead of getting bored!

Pleasant things may not always be morally correct, and in that case it is expected that it would carry bad consequences. I sense that someone may perhaps be a little myopic. It may be pleasant to have a extra marital affair, but what if the spouse on either side finds out? Especially a jealous husband, I guess you know what revenge can entail.

I suppose they do sometimes...love, chocolate, things that are really good are often bad for you (tee hee)...It's a tradeoff. You take the joy & the pain. But this isn't always the case. There are many pleasant things without consequences. If you always expect bad things to happen it may become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Or perhaps you're focusing too much on the negative.

Hi. Bad? Like putting on weight from gluttony kind of bad? Most real pleasures have no bad side. Watch a sunset, colors change with the seasons, any REAL pleasant thing. You'll have no regrets.

"pleasant" is one thing. like a picnic on a sunny day (or whatever...)
you know what you mean by "pleasant" is the extreme of some pleasure. We're insatiable, if ever there was an animal nature, it is that. You want MORE. And at the edge of the extreme there is always the risk of bitterness.
Nobody contents themselves with picnics.

Logical fallacies and bad spelling aside, there are various things that can make this seem true. One is reversion to the mean: after the best moment of your life, the next one is bound to be something of a come-down. There is also the tendency to engage in pleasurable activities to excess, or to disregard consequences in the pursuit of pleasure.

We have too high expectations of them. They are only things, no matter how pleasant or not they are. As all other things they end with more or less good or bad results.

I feel they carry bad consequences when they surpass moderation. They're supposed to be experienced with temperance where, suprisingly enough, they are brought to their fullest capacity.
