False. The light would reach us in about eight minutes -- and if the sun blew up, the light alone would be enough to kill anyone on the day side.

No, the light and gravity would "stop" and radiation would get here about 7-8 minutes after the Sun blew up.
The shock wave would reach us a few minutes to hours later depending on the size of the particle and a few other things. Some stuff would be getting here a few days later though.

There is no question of the sun blowing up at any time . You know tha mass has the character of attraction - gravity. The reason for the mass of mater having gravity is this . All mattes and all mass of all maters ae made of atoms only. evey one now-a-days knows tha the electron inside the atom of any element is being pulled by the proton and he electron which is moving at the tangent is beoing pulled towards the center by he proton and consequently the elctron moes in the direction of he resultan tforce which is he centrifugal force ,All masses being comprised of aoms of this charcter is naturally compsed of the rptoopns which ae the quality of pulling everthing towards them. So ithe graity of he mass is in propotion to its quantity , This ios why all masses have the force of atraction - gravity and this gravity is ois a special force and has not repulsive action to anything . Allmasses attract mutually. The sun being a very big mass in comparision to the eartha nd all he planets around it ,it is always exeritng a force of attraction on all the bodies around it . When the sun's fuel gets exhausted , i is expected to grow up in size so much as o pull everythign around it into itself and increase in its mass gaining more of the force of gravity . The sun falling on o the earth would not occur . The earth and other planets falling in to the sun would happen. The explosion of he sun might perhaps happen after billions of yeas of nuclear reacion within the sun and if it creates an immense quantity of gaseous matter a a hgih temperature suddently expanding the Gas violently . The earth haveing been sucked in already , ther eis no question of he bursting sun falling into the earth.

If the Sun exploded, we would know it within about 8 minutes. The shockwave would propagate through space at near light speeds and would anihalate anything in its path.

Absolutely not. If the blaring light didn't kill us first...probably withing about 8 to 10 minutes, then the supernova would destory us in only a few more.

no that isn't true ... if the sun blows up we would have light for another 7 years .... when the sun "blows up" it doesn't really blow...it transforms in a black-hole there won't be any shock wave...but after the light disappears there is a big chance of the earth being sucked in.
But this is only my answer and I could be wrong...or mad

if the sun blows up, it will have to swell first. the bigger it got, the hotter earth would become and eventually everything would become to hot to sustain life. we would die before it got anywhere near the point of blowing up. fortunatley we have about 5 billion year until that happens.

You wouldn't knew that, because you would die much sooner than that. That is, if you mean a Supernova by 'the Sun blowing up'. I don't know that would happen if you managed to blow it up manually.
